Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty claims handling, along with the ability to organize data, multi-task, and make decisions independently. Above average communication skills (written and verbal) are required, as well as the ability to write reports and compose correspondence. The ability to resolve complex issues, maintain confidentiality and data security, and effectively deal with a diverse group of individuals is also necessary. Furthermore, candidates must be able to accurately deal with mathematical problems, including geometry and financial areas, and possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record consistent with the Company’s underwriting guidelines.
The Claims Representative will investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims under close supervision, including the life-cycle of a claim from investigation to resolution. They will study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop foundational knowledge on Company insurance products, learn and comply with Company claim handling procedures, and develop entry-level claim negotiation and settlement skills. This role involves serving the needs of agents, insureds, and others, communicating with claimants, legal counsel, and third-parties, and developing specialized skills including estimating and using computer-based programs for loss adjustment. Additionally, the representative will study and obtain adjuster’s licenses if required, and continually develop product knowledge through approved educational programs.
