Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship (required for ability to obtain security clearance)
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community R&D efforts (e.g., DARPA, AFRL, ONR, ARL)
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Background in AI, autonomy, optimization, machine learning, or related scientific disciplines
  • Track record of successful technical proposal contributions and/or leadership on advanced research programs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (Bachelor’s + 15 years, Master’s + 13 years, PhD + 10 years, or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical consulting and subject-matter expertise on advanced R&D programs
  • Contribute to proposal development, including concept generation, technical writing, and review
  • Advise teams on emerging research directions, system architectures, and algorithmic approaches
  • Support customer engagement by offering technical insights during meetings, reviews, and briefings
  • Collaborate with STR scientists and engineers to identify new opportunities and shape program strategies
