Requirements

Valid Driver’s License
Willing and able to obtain a commercial driver’s license within 90 days of employment
Willing and able to wear and safely use all levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) including air-purifying respirators
Pass a Pre-Employment Physical, Drug Screen, and Alcohol testing
Pass a Pre-Employment Background Screening
Pass the Company’s Auto Insurance Qualifiers
Pass the OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training
Experience in hazardous waste classification, lab pack segregation, and waste handling (preferred)
Working knowledge of applicable DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations (preferred)

Responsibilities

Conducting routine inspection/audit services to assess customers’ compliance with hazmat storage, waste management, and occupational safety regulations
Handling, classifying, segregating, labeling, and packaging hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to Federal and State regulations
Training laboratory/production staff to understand proper chemical handling/storage techniques and relevant environmental laws
Responding to emergency chemical spills and performing cleanup duties
Preparing shipping documents and coordinating transportation of chemical products and hazardous waste materials to and from customer sites
Performing consolidation of hazardous materials/waste (i.e., bulking, repackaging)
Providing expert knowledge on government regulations, health and safety practices, and proper disposal methods to customers
Training entry-level chemists
Approving packing slips from outside vendors
Performing specialized services (cylinder repack, chemical deactivation)
Performing other job-related duties as assigned
