Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Willing and able to obtain a commercial driver’s license within 90 days of employment
  • Willing and able to wear and safely use all levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) including air-purifying respirators
  • Pass a Pre-Employment Physical, Drug Screen, and Alcohol testing
  • Pass a Pre-Employment Background Screening
  • Pass the Company’s Auto Insurance Qualifiers
  • Pass the OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training
  • Experience in hazardous waste classification, lab pack segregation, and waste handling (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of applicable DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine inspection/audit services to assess customers’ compliance with hazmat storage, waste management, and occupational safety regulations
  • Handling, classifying, segregating, labeling, and packaging hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to Federal and State regulations
  • Training laboratory/production staff to understand proper chemical handling/storage techniques and relevant environmental laws
  • Responding to emergency chemical spills and performing cleanup duties
  • Preparing shipping documents and coordinating transportation of chemical products and hazardous waste materials to and from customer sites
  • Performing consolidation of hazardous materials/waste (i.e., bulking, repackaging)
  • Providing expert knowledge on government regulations, health and safety practices, and proper disposal methods to customers
  • Training entry-level chemists
  • Approving packing slips from outside vendors
  • Performing specialized services (cylinder repack, chemical deactivation)
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned
