Requirements

  • Must have open availability including weekends
  • Passionate about service and able to model superior customer service behavior
  • Able to perform physical tasks including using reach trucks, pallet jacks, down stocking freight, and rotating product (FIFO)
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary software
  • Able to utilize POS systems, handheld scan guns, 10-keypad, and scales efficiently and accurately

Responsibilities

  • Perform sales and cash functions at POS, including scanning, weighing, looking up products, and ensuring barcode accuracy; report discrepancies
  • Conduct cart-to-cart transfers at checkout with visual inspection for tampering
  • Act as receipt checker, verifying cart contents vs. purchases as customers exit
  • Perform store opening and closing functions at the front end
  • Assist customers on the sales floor in Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply departments to find products and promote services
  • Receive inventory shipments, stock shelves neatly, ensure proper rotation (FIFO), perform product quality audits, and report low stock
  • Label merchandise properly (blaster tagging, catch weight labels, PLU tags)
  • Replenish sales floor daily from top stock using reach trucks and pallet jacks; ensure products are accessible, visually appealing, and available
  • Assist with price changes, inventory, cycle counts, vendor fairs, sales floor resets, and special events
  • Maintain facility safety, follow policies, and notify management of issues
  • Develop and maximize customer relationships using CHEF’STORE Way training
