Requirements

  • Works with Facility Manager, facility staff, and physician to coordinate operations and patient procedures
  • Provides nursing support to patients and staff
  • Assists with staffing, staff training, equipment, physician and patient relations, cost containment, supply management, medical records, patient billing, OSHA, and company/state/federal compliance
  • Supports and drives quality standards through regulatory requirements and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), including use of CQI tools
  • Accountable for outstanding quality of patient care as defined by quality goals
  • Ensures ongoing compliance with risk management initiatives
  • Addresses and acts on adverse events and action thresholds
  • Maintains integrity of medical records and administrative/operational records
  • Complies with data collections and auditing activities
  • Maintains facility environmental integrity, including safety
  • Coordinates all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge
  • Performs nursing assessments and confers with patients pre-procedure
  • Educates patients and families on post-procedure care of vascular access
  • Acts as resource for staff on patient concerns
  • Schedules patient procedures timely and utilizes facility capacity efficiently
  • Assists with patient workflow, direct patient care, and monitoring pre/intra/post procedure
  • Oversees accurate and complete documentation of patient treatments
  • Confirms written orders, consents, and lab work per facility policies
  • Assumes primary responsibility in emergencies, maintains competency in emergency procedures, initiates CPR and emergency measures
  • Administers medications and IV conscious sedation per physician orders and regulations
  • Ensures regular communication with physicians
  • Participates in Governing Body and CQI meetings
  • Ensures possession of necessary instruments and equipment
  • Ensures operation of facility equipment (e.g., patient monitors, defibrillators, recording devices, computers)
  • Inspects facility equipment regularly and reports malfunctions
  • Inspects facility operating systems (e.g., temperature checks, physical structure)

Responsibilities

  • Assists with implementing quality goals and develops facility-specific action plans
  • Works with management to ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • Implements appropriate training per policy
  • Communicates and implements all Quality policies and procedures to facility staff
  • Identifies and communicates patient-related issues to Facility Manager
  • Prepares lab requisitions, delivers to labs, reports and forwards results to physicians
  • Attends and participates in Governing Body meetings, assists with agenda and data gathering
  • Attends and participates in CQI meetings with physicians, reports on assigned topics
  • Works with physicians and staff on instruments and equipment
