Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Board of Nursing (active license in the state of practice, upon hire)
Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing (active license in the state of practice, upon hire)
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) (upon hire)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work the hours specified

Responsibilities

Perform pre-operative patient assessment
Determine a plan of care and communicate it to patient and family
Establish and maintain essential venous access
Ensure establishment and maintenance of airway
Induce, maintain anesthesia, and perform proper monitoring
Complete anesthesia and manage emergence from anesthesia
Transfer care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure
Perform post-operative follow-up for each case
Act as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students
Care for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in settings including surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management
Promote Avera’s values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship
Maintain confidentiality
Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, OSHA)
