Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Licensing Board certification or complete courses to become certified within 60 days of hire date
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work PRN (at least 2 shifts every 6 weeks) on Day (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), Evening (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.), or Night (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) shifts

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, transfers, repositioning, toileting)
Answer call lights and ensure a clean environment
Perform routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff
Document concise and factual information on appropriate forms
Perform or assist residents with specific medical care activities in accordance with established policy and procedure to contribute to the patient's plan of care
Provide feedback to nursing staff immediately on status or changes in patient conditions, pain management, and other important concerns
Participate in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
Comply with all aspects of resident rights, including confidentiality and privacy
Report all allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of resident property
Follow established policies and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous and chemical communication
Mentor new employees and assist with their orientation
Lead by example, following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards
