Responsibilities

  • Review and approve large submissions that fall beyond the authority of Western World underwriters
  • Prepare, coordinate and execute product line specific training for underwriters and support staff
  • Proactively identify new market opportunities and product offerings as well as support cross-sell opportunities for casualty product line
  • Monitor key metrics to ensure product profitability and manage the casualty portfolio to meet overall business objectives
  • Engage with Western World wholesalers to understand their needs and gather feedback for product innovation
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies and risk selection criteria for the casualty line of business
  • Assist in developing underwriting guidelines, appetite flyers and referral tools specific to casualty risks
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Product Development, IT and Legal, to develop and launch new products
  • Support Underwriting staff with technical guidance on casualty coverage forms, endorsements, and exclusions
  • Speak for the casualty product line in internal meetings and external broker events and industry events
  • Communicate product positioning, benefits and competitive advantages and assist in developing marketing materials
