High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or college experience preferred
Completion of an Apprenticeship Program in the carpentry trade, or equivalent experience/knowledge
Ability to use and read a tape measure with precise standards and accuracy
Understanding of prints, sketches, blueprints, and building plans with minimal instruction for performing layout, framing, and assembly
Excellent communication, organization, and people skills, with proven success working in team environments
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to supply basic tools required for the position (such as a toolbox, hammer, nail bag, etc.)
Commitment to safety and keeping the work area neat and clean
Reliable transportation required
Strict adherence to all Warfel safety rules and regulations, including site-specific necessities
Availability for full-time on-site work in Winchester, VA (Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, occasional Saturday work and overtime)
Physical ability to stand 95% of time, sit 5%, frequent walking, lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. (equipment available for assistance)

Responsibilities

Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, HM door frames (knock down and welded), weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware
Install, align, and embed miscellaneous metal and specialty items, such as handrails, bearing plates, lintels, fire extinguishers, bathroom accessories, and various other tasks
Erect scaffolding and ladders for work on structures above ground level
Use appropriate hand tools
Perform building layout, wood and metal framing, layout and installation of blocking
Install cabinets, trim, and casing
Perform a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as selective demo, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, and cutting/attaching insulating material
Assist other carpenters or Warfel employees in the performance of their duties
Operate hand and power tools as well as company equipment and vehicles
