Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or college experience preferred)
Completion of an Apprenticeship Program in the carpentry trade, or equivalent experience/knowledge
Ability to use and read a tape measure with precise standards and accuracy
Understanding of prints, sketches, blueprints, and building plans with minimal instruction for performing layout, framing, and assembly
Dexterous use of hands and tools
Selective demo, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, and cutting and attaching insulating material
Ability to operate hand and power tools
Ability to operate company equipment and vehicles
Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean and organized work area
Excellent communication, organization, and people skills, with proven success in team environments
Ability to work with limited supervision
Reliable transportation required
Standing approximately 95% of the time
Sitting approximately 5% of the time
Frequent walking required
Ability to lift & carry materials weighing no more than 50 lbs. (equipment available)

Responsibilities

Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, HM door frames (knock down and welded), weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware
Install, align, and embed miscellaneous metal and specialty items, such as handrails, bearing plates, lintels, fire extinguishers, bathroom accessories, and various other tasks
Erect scaffolding and ladders for work on structures above ground level
Perform a variety of tasks involving wood & metal framing, layout and installation of blocking, installing cabinets, trim, and casing
Assist other carpenters or Warfel employees in the performance of their duties
Operate hand and power tools as well as company equipment and vehicles
Supply basic tools required for the position (such as a tool box, hammer, nail bag, etc.)
