Requirements

Ability to develop multiple alternate options to evaluate and guide leaders to choose the best business case, working with budgetary and finance teams
Engineering knowledge to support Facilities, Utilities, Infrastructure, and manufacturing equipment design, including preparing requests for proposal documentation, updating equipment specifications, and having detailed conversations with suppliers
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously with multiple timelines while maintaining adherence to internal process timelines
Thorough knowledge of the customer and business needs when developing project scope
Understanding of Project Management tools and methodologies
Understanding of engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques

Responsibilities

Work closely with ID sites to identify, scope, plan, and conduct medium-size to complex assigned projects
Communicate project progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner
Lead development of Project Charter and document initial requirements that satisfy stakeholder needs and expectations
Establish engineering project objectives and technical criteria for evaluating project results and activities of the project team
Monitor and control project work to meet performance objectives defined in the project plan, focusing on cost and milestone achievement to optimize resource utilization
Identify areas of risk and mitigate risks through early risk assessments and implementation of fallback/mitigation strategies
Identify, develop, and gather resources to complete the project, including preparing engineering designs and work specifications, developing project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors
Use established PM tools and techniques to stay within authorized budget limits and achieve overall project and organizational objectives
Follow Abbott’s Front End Planning process for project development and provide execution support to manufacturing capital projects
Develop capital project scope by working with quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams
