Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily distribution center (DC) operations including scheduling, hiring, and training of DC Associates
  • Oversee day-to-day DC functions in one of the following areas: receiving, order filling, or shipping
  • Prioritize daily workflow to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Plan and schedule DC personnel to ensure proper staffing for receiving, order filling, or shipping products in a productive, safe, and cost-efficient manner
  • Conduct daily start-up meetings; organize daily assignments/workload to associates and assign duties accordingly
  • Establish or adjust work assignments to meet daily production schedules
  • Train associates in the proper execution of standard operating procedures (SOP’s); implement and ensure they are followed; verify the accuracy and completeness of all records/documentation activities within the work group
  • Ensure that product is received, orders are filled, and shipped to stores in a timely manner to maximize customer service
  • Maintain time and attendance, productivity, and quality records daily; prepare and generate daily productivity reports (TPR) for management; monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPI’s)
  • Participate in the selection of operation associates; implement departmental training and job rotation activities; initiate plans to motivate associates; administer performance management (coaching and accountability) including the annual review process; provide development and training in all functional areas
  • Promote a positive, inclusive work environment through effectively communicating and interpreting company policies for associates; coaching and counseling; responding to general inquiries; analyzing and resolving work problems in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies (e.g., open door, progressive discipline, effective documentation, and follow-up)
  • Maintain employment-related programs and procedures, including health and safety, housekeeping programs, and cultural programs to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policy
