Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable sales through achievement of sales and profit goals, budget management, sales forecasts; proactively analyze and utilize sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to identify and respond to market changes while controlling expenditures; communicate sales results to associates and guide interpretation of results
  • Create operational plans with Store Manager support; prioritize, delegate, and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates; ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, and store standards within Company policies; implement new store programs, evaluate effectiveness, monitor perpetual inventory and replenishment, identify inventory flow problems, and take corrective action
  • Execute and monitor asset protection and safety controls; maintain quality assurance standards; oversee safety and operational reviews; ensure compliance with Walmart policies, procedures, and established safety, security, sales, financial, and record-keeping practices; anticipate and proactively respond to compliance issues, including Total Loss control
  • Serve Customers as a store ambassador by greeting them, seeking feedback, and resolving needs, complaints, and issues within Company guidelines; model, enforce, and provide direction to associates on friendly and helpful customer service approaches and techniques
  • Support store initiatives to serve the community by participating in and supporting community events and developing relationships with key community groups; participate in company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts for associates and customers
  • Lead Associates by conducting regular store meetings and communicating operational direction and initiatives; drive engagement, recognize and reward accomplishments, and provide opportunities for professional growth; identify high-potential associates and provide training and development
  • Demonstrate Company values by holding Associates accountable through timely, honest, specific, and respectful performance feedback and corrective action; build and manage relationships with supporting functions within the store and district (e.g., Specialty Managers, People Managers, District Teams)
  • Supervise Assistant Managers in day-to-day store operations; adapt to constant changes in the retail technological landscape; oversee effective implementation of digital applications, handle training of the management team on new OMNI processes and customer requirements
