Requirements

  • Ability to develop and manage project specific building design based on prototype and standards
  • Capability to collaborate with cross-functional partners including Real Estate, Construction, Transportation, Technology, Store Layout, Specialty Departments, Licensees, Legal, Risk Management, Logistics, Food Safety, Asset Protection, ISD/Technology, Maintenance, Operations, eCommerce, Marketing
  • Experience managing Architectural and other supporting consultants for construction drawings
  • Knowledge of project management from Pre-Approval through GO, including timelines, budgets, and change orders
  • Proficiency in performing due diligence, attending scope trips, creating post-scope reports
  • Skills in engaging and directing 3rd party consultants, managing design budgets and fees, reviewing/approving invoices and contractual documents
  • Expertise in reviewing/approving working drawings, exterior elevations, ensuring alignment with scope, coordination, and permit readiness
  • Ability to negotiate with municipalities, respond to permit processes
  • Experience participating in project status meetings, risk/change meetings, QCR meetings, landlord/developer meetings
  • Proficiency with project tracking tools like Tririga

Responsibilities

  • Manage project specific project design and associated timelines from Pre-Approval through GO
  • Ensure consultants adhere to current prototype standards when developing building drawings and collaborate with internal teams
  • Seek input from cross-functional teams as required and ensure projects incorporate current standards
  • Adapt store specific design to varying non-proto conditions and resolve unique design opportunities through stakeholder meetings
  • Review potential change orders, coordinate approvals, assess impact on cost/schedule, recommend solutions
  • Perform project specific due diligence, attend scope trips, create and distribute post-scope reports
  • Engage 3rd party consultants to produce accurate building drawings reflecting scope
  • Facilitate project budget process and prepare RE&S presentations
  • Provide direction to consultants on post-approval scopes/requirements
  • Engage external consultants ensuring design fees reflect project scope, manage design budget, approve changes/fees
  • Issue contractual documents timely, review/approve consultant invoices for compliance
  • Review/approve project specific working drawings including exterior elevations for alignment, interpretability, coordination
  • Obtain authorizations/documentation for Building Permit Submission and negotiate with municipalities
  • Participate in project status meetings, risk/change meetings, QCR meetings, landlord/developer meetings; review their documentation
  • Manage project timelines, provide input on schedules for drawings/permits, track tasks on Tririga
  • Manage design special projects as required
