Candidates should possess 3 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar role utilizing data to inform decision-making, proficiency in Power BI for building reports and dashboards, and hands-on experience with AWS data tools such as Redshift, Athena, and S3, alongside strong SQL skills for querying and transforming data. Furthermore, the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and respectfully to non-technical audiences is required, along with a commitment to ethical data practices and alignment with Mozilla’s values around privacy, openness, and equitable technology, coupled with attention to detail, strong documentation habits, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The Business Intelligence Analyst will work with data stored in AWS to prepare high-quality, privacy-conscious datasets and visualizations, write and maintain SQL queries and data transformations to support reporting and analysis workflows, perform statistical analysis to understand patterns and anomalies in data, and communicate insights effectively. They will collaborate with teams across Mozilla Foundation to design and build interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, support teams in building data fluency and enabling self-service use of BI tools, and ensure data practices uphold Mozilla’s lean data principles, including collecting only what is needed, using it responsibly, and sharing it with care. The Analyst will also help document data sources, definitions, and logic to improve organizational transparency and trust in data, identify opportunities to improve data quality and accessibility, and respond to ad-hoc requests from business users for data analysis as needed.
