The Business Development Manager is a key member of the Alira Health Research and Clinical Development (RCD) team. This role focuses on client outreach, facilitating meetings, and providing strategic support for business growth within the DACH region. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Commercial and RCD teams, contributing to the development of new business opportunities and supporting Alira Health’s expansion. This position includes some travel.

Requirements

  • Education: BS/BA degree preferred, with a concentration in Business or Sciences.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of clinical research experience in a Clinical Research Organization (CRO), or biotech/pharma/medical device company is strongly preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proven ability to be careful and thorough.
    • Understanding of Alira Health’s range of services, particularly RCD services.
    • Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Assist with the development of new business for Alira Health’s RCD department.
  • Client Outreach: Demonstrate an understanding of Alira Health’s range of services, with a focus on RCD services.
  • Meeting Management: Prepare and actively execute client prospecting and outreach activities in the DACH region.
  • Facilitation: Schedule and participate in client teleconferences and meetings, acting as a facilitator for the Research and Clinical Development team members.
  • Strategic Support: Participate in strategic discussions with Commercial and RCD teams to support Alira Health’s business growth and expansion.
  • Proposal & Contract Support: Coordinate proposals and contract preparation with respective Alira Health teams.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the Marketing team to leverage marketing campaigns and follow up on client requests.
  • CRM Management: Track current and past clients, including follow-up, deadlines, and metrics, utilizing Zoho (or other CRM) and other tools. Ensure that Alira Health’s CRM system is kept current.
  • Quality Control: Assist with the quality control and review process for new business proposals and presentations.
  • Meeting Participation: Participate or manage in internal, client/sponsor, and other meetings as required.
  • Compliance: Comply with ICH GCP guidelines, FDA regulations, and company SOPs.
  • Prioritization: Manage and resolve conflicting priorities to deliver on commitments.
  • Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
