Requirements

  • Experience as a Business Analyst, with proven history of working in commercial insurance (e.g. property, financial lines, liability)
  • Strong knowledge of general insurance business processes, systems, and Australian or New Zealand regulatory environments
  • A good understanding of general insurance intermediated electronic distribution channels including Sunrise Exchange and SCTPS
  • Solid experience working across both project environments (Agile and/or Waterfall) and BAU operations
  • Technically adept – comfortable working with development teams, APIs, databases, data models, system integrations and configuration driven development concepts
  • Proficient in business analysis tools and techniques
  • Formal tertiary qualifications majoring in Business, IT, Finance, or related discipline
  • Relevant business analysis certifications
  • Experience with core insurance or product distribution systems would be preferred
  • Exposure to data analytics, reporting tools, or regulatory reporting is advantageous
  • Proven ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently, delivering to plan and requirements
  • Excellent change management skills, particularly business process improvement, change communication, solution design and impact analysis
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all organisational levels
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with extensive documentation and technical writing experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Able to work collaboratively with a broad range of constituencies and diverse groups

Responsibilities

  • Liaising extensively with internal and external SMEs, vendors, customers and channel partners
  • Defining and documenting as is and to be business processes
  • Defining and documenting business, functional and non-functional requirements
  • Playing a significant role in solution design
  • Working with IT and business testing teams to define and document test plans and test cases
  • Ensuring adherence to internal governance and compliance procedures, policies and guidelines
  • Participating in operational audits, disaster recovery and business continuity exercises, when required
