Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Elementary computer skills such as creating MS Excel worksheets, Word documents, and checking electronic mail
  • Willingness to travel 1 to 5 trips per year
  • Supervisory skills: responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities

Responsibilities

  • Assist the broiler manager in the production of high-quality birds for the plant while maintaining low cost and a highly motivated workforce
  • Schedule chick placement and schedule birds for processing according to weight in relation to plant needs
  • Communicate with growers and provide advice on management practices
  • Monitor various feeding and health programs for broilers
  • Monitor cost reports, plant production, DOAs, etc., comparing previous week's performance
  • Work with accounting personnel to ensure accuracy and status of all broiler settlements
  • Ensure compliance with all USDA, NAE, NAO, AWB, and other government regulations in broiler production
  • Meet with and encourage broiler technical advisors on a weekly basis
  • Work directly with equipment companies to ensure efficient layout of equipment
  • Perform other responsibilities as the need arises
