About the Role

We are searching for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Linguistic / Translator to support our team on a specific project, bridging the language gap between English and Brazilian Portuguese. This role is critical in ensuring our project content resonates authentically with our diverse audience. You'll contribute to the accurate and culturally appropriate translation and localization of various materials for this project. This position serves as a linguistic resource within the project team, helping to ensure all related text is translated with precision and cultural nuance.

This role is ideal for an individual who thrives on linguistic precision, excels at maintaining voice and tone across languages, and embraces the challenge of facilitating seamless communication for a creative and innovative team on a focused initiative.

What You’ll Do

• Translate and localize a variety of project-specific content from English to Brazilian Portuguese and vice-versa, including in-game text and marketing materials relevant to the project.
• Help ensure all the project translations are linguistically accurate, culturally appropriate, and maintain the original intent, tone, and style.
• Support linguistic reviews and quality assurance of project-related translated materials to identify and correct any errors or inconsistencies.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of project-specific glossaries and translation memories to ensure consistency across all linguistic assets for the project.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and game designers to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality translations.
• Participate in localization testing to help ensure translated project content is correctly integrated and displayed within our products.
• Research and stay up-to-date with linguistic trends, cultural nuances, and best practices in translation and localization for both English and Brazilian Portuguese relevant to the project.

The Ideal You

• You bring a minimum of 3-4 years of proven professional experience as a translator or linguist, specializing in English and Brazilian Portuguese.
• You possess native-level fluency in Brazilian Portuguese and excellent proficiency in English, with a deep understanding of cultural nuances in both languages.
• You have experience with localization platforms.
• You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all linguistic tasks.
• You possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Brazilian Portuguese.
• You are proven in your ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• You approach linguistic challenges with a problem-solving mindset, identifying issues and proposing effective solutions.
• You maintain a high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.

Nice to Have

• Tech Savvy, interested in new technologies and AI.
• Experience with project management tools like Jira or Asana.
• Experience with gaming or technology-related content is a strong plus.
