Requirements

Proven record of leading a team with ten or more employees for at least 6 years in a customer service environment with deadlines and legal requirements
8-10 years of solid leadership and management experience in financial services, banking, accounting, or similar fields
Bachelor's degree with major coursework in accounting
Talent for team development and motivation; competitive and quality-oriented
Strong emphasis on deadlines, accuracy, great customer service, proactive communication, and technical accuracy
Positive attitude and servant leadership style focused on developing and supporting others
Ability to commute daily to the San Antonio office for team collaboration, onsite functions, staff development, and leadership meetings
Experience in HOA management not required (training provided)

Responsibilities

Oversee the consistent, accurate delivery of accounting services for over 500 customers, including balance sheets, income statements, bank reconciliations, general ledger reports, cash disbursements, cash flow statements, banking, client setup, deposits, reporting, and tax preparation
Manage, lead, and develop a team of bookkeepers and other staff to ensure consistent service delivery
Provide ongoing staff development, positive motivation, training, and coaching
Develop and maintain positive relationships with banking partners, vendors, internal staff, and external customers
Provide autonomous, proactive leadership of the department and service delivery
Manage daily activities of staff and review employee activities for completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness
Be a positive opinion-maker in the leadership team and believe in the good in people
Support and lead fraud prevention efforts both internally and on behalf of customers
Foster a supportive department culture emphasizing expertise, diligent problem-solving, and same-day response to customer calls and correspondence
Guide the department to deliver service that meets or exceeds client expectations while adhering to company culture
