Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 2+ years of trading experience in credit trading
  • Existing sales and trading relationships (preferred)
  • Proficiency in trading platforms: Bloomberg, MarketAxess, TradeWeb and TruMid
  • Effectively manages multiple tasks on the trading desk
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage both internal and external business relationships
  • Strong sense of teamwork, ethics and professional accountability
  • Works well in a team-driven working group, highly motivated, intelligent, with sound judgment and demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors

Responsibilities

  • Work with High Yield (HY) and Investment Grade (IG) portfolio managers and the broader trading desk to execute in the primary and secondary markets
  • Understand portfolio needs and generate investment ideas
  • Trade treasuries, municipal bonds, and CDS
  • Communicate market and trading color to broader investment discussions with portfolio managers, research analysts and other traders
  • Track spreads and other market data for portfolio managers and research analysts
  • Identify relationships across markets and potential trades that arise from those relationships
  • Build upon relationships with existing Wall Street sales / trading / syndicate desks
  • Back up other traders across loans, high yield, municipals, private placements, and distressed credit
