Position Overview

We are revolutionizing medical billing, a critical and often inefficient part of the US healthcare system. Providers currently spend over $250 billion annually on administrative overhead simply to receive payments from insurance. Medical billing is inherently complex, estimated to be around 100 times more challenging than credit card payment processing. Historically, this has been managed by large teams of people who track and manage intricate rules specific to individual insurance companies, often with minimal software support.

Our company is rebuilding the medical billing process from the ground up. We are developing software powered by best-in-class data science, with future integration of machine learning, to automate much of this complexity. Our goal is to make it significantly easier and more cost-effective for healthcare providers to get paid.

We were part of the Y Combinator W20 batch and have since secured substantial funding from leading investors, including 8VC, First Round Capital, and BoxGroup, as well as angel investors. We are now supporting over 10 times the number of customers we had during YC. Our clients are making significant contributions to healthcare, including treating opioid addiction, providing comprehensive women's care (Tia), increasing access to birth control (The Pill Club), supporting weight loss programs, and expanding access to mental health care. What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate closely with the RCM Lead to oversee Candid’s onshore and offshore billing teams.
• Manage work prioritization, monitor team productivity and quality, and conduct claims analysis to ensure excellent customer outcomes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Lead, support, and empower our talented billing team to achieve billing targets.
• Identify and own initiatives to continuously improve the focus areas and operational effectiveness of our billing team.
• Analyze patterns within our billing lifecycle to provide insights that inform product and engineering solutions.

Who You Are

• You have prior experience leading medical billing teams and are recognized as an empowering leader.
• You possess strong analytical skills, a curious and investigative mindset, and value these traits in others.
• You approach Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) with a focus on prevention rather than reaction, aiming to prevent denials and rejections upstream.
• You have extensive experience across multiple specialties, multi-state billing, and telehealth billing.
• You have broad Revenue Cycle Management experience, including EDI Enrollments, Payment Posting and Reconciliation, and Denial Management.
