Candidates should possess a strong understanding of the financial impact of underwriting decisions, solid analytical skills, and proficient PC skills, along with strong communications and interpersonal skills, the ability to problem solve and manage time efficiently, and the willingness to engage in continuous learning. Knowledge of established underwriting principles and techniques, combined with demonstrated reasoning and application of theory, is also required, as well as fluency in French and English and post-secondary education, preferably in math, science, or business. Holding an industry designation or working towards its completion, such as FALU, is preferred.
The Bilingual Senior Underwriter will perform underwriting and risk assessment for multiple lines of business, maintain a high level of communication and support with management, ensure PartnerRe's competitiveness while adhering to established protocols and control standards, contribute to the refinement of underwriting guidelines and procedures, and ensure departmental compliance with quality and service level agreements. They will also participate in internal and external audits as needed.
