Requirements

  • Successful completion of BCI/FBI check
  • Ability to meet educational standards as applicable
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently
  • Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs
  • Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and assisting students at lunch and recess
  • Assisting younger children in getting lunch trays, milk and condiments
  • Monitoring student behavior and providing appropriate discipline as necessary within guidelines of school rules
  • Assisting students in cleaning up after themselves (spills, wiping tables, disposing of trash, etc)
  • Helping to wash tables, pick up floor trash and ready condiments between lunch sessions and after lunch period
  • Monitoring students for safety and appropriate behavior on the playground
  • Helping maintain the cleanliness of the classroom, lunchroom and other school areas
  • Understanding, accepting, abiding by, and implementing the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all school activities
  • Working cooperatively with lunch and recess employees
  • Acting in accordance with directives from the Administrator (or designee)
  • Contributing to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards
  • Other duties as assigned
