Requirements
- Ability to proof and bake unfinished bakery goods using ovens and/or other equipment, following product handling information
- Knowledge of bakery production charts for production, display, and preparation needs
- Skills in packaging freshly baked goods (e.g., cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, cakes)
- Ability to unpack goods from freezer, display proper amounts, rotate, and store products per food safety, freshness, and handling policies
- Capability to receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments
- Skills in decorating special order or case products
- Understanding of cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department
- Commitment to club policies, procedures, compliance, honesty, integrity, and GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate)
- Ability to work as a team, maintain a friendly/positive attitude, ensure safe/positive environment, and embrace inclusion/diversity
- At least 18 years old for 401(k) eligibility (implied general age for equipment handling)
Responsibilities
- Answer questions and recommend bakery items to members
- Answer member calls and take special orders
- Proof and bake all unfinished bakery goods following product handling info and using equipment
- Use bakery production charts to guide production, display needs, and gather products for next day
- Package freshly baked goods including cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, cakes, and other items
- Unpack bakery goods from freezer and display proper amounts based on production chart recommendations, including safe handling/storage
- Decorate special order or case products
- Rotate and store bakery products following food safety, freshness, and product handling policies/procedures
- Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments
- Maintain all cleaning and safety standards in the bakery department
- Carry out job functions as assigned, support policies/procedures, escalate concerns, deliver service excellence, and achieve GOLD club standards (e.g., stocked items, promotional plans, clean/organized, grand opening look)
