Requirements

High school diploma or GED (college coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred)
Dispatch experience
Backhaul experience
Basic transportation knowledge
Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with managers, co-workers, customers and/or vendors to positively affect productivity and morale
Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
Ability to maintain and ensure confidentiality of team member and company information
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
Proficient in computer usage including email, word processing, spreadsheets
Knowledge of computer software and applications
Ability to accommodate flexible schedules including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to utilize equipment such as computers, cell phones, copiers, scanners, printers
Ability to relocate
Ability to travel (minimal, less than 10%)
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
Must be able to sit on an almost continual basis and stand, walk, bend, or squat on an occasional basis in a normal office environment
Occasional need to go in the freezer and warehouse

Responsibilities

Utilize dynamic routing program to efficiently route outbound product
Respond promptly to driver inquiries regarding breakdowns, directions, product count discrepancies, etc
Monitor drivers’ hours to prevent DOT violations
Adjust delivery and backhaul assignments to accommodate breakdowns, late trucks, and other changes
Timely and regular attendance
Interact courteously and tactfully with managers, co-workers, customers, and/or vendors to positively affect productivity and morale
Generate revenue via backhauls
Dispatch trucks
Work in a safe and effective manner
Report incidents promptly to direct supervisor
Contact customers and vendors regarding appointments, time changes, and updates
Maintain dispatch and backhaul files
Maintain current phone numbers in TMW file maintenance
Schedule and monitor drivers and equipment to provide on-time delivery and backhaul performance
Any and all other duties as assigned
