Springboard is seeking passionate Data Engineering mentors to support students enrolled in our Data Engineering Career Track course. This 4-month program is designed to train students on job-ready data engineering skills, including the core engineering mindset, tools, and best practices. Mentors will provide guidance and support to students through weekly check-ins and ongoing communication. The program aims to help students transition into their dream data engineering roles.

About the Course

The Data Engineering Career Track curriculum covers in-depth knowledge in SQL, Python, data pipelines, data transformation, Spark, and cloud services. Students will work on exercises and mini-projects covering end-to-end development processes, including creating production-ready ETL processes, pulling data from multiple sources, building cloud data warehouses, and data modeling.

The Opportunity

Springboard runs an online Data Engineering Career Track where participants learn with a curated, project-based curriculum and 1-on-1 guidance from an expert mentor. Our mentor community comprises experts from leading organizations like Uber, Pandora, LinkedIn, and Apple, as well as top-notch startups.

Program Details

  • Format: Completely online and self-paced
  • Duration: 4 months
  • Student Profile: Working professionals from around the world
  • Mentorship Structure:
    • Biweekly 30-minute check-ins to discuss questions, projects, and career advice.
    • Ongoing communication outside of scheduled calls as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to students enrolled in the Data Engineering Career Track.
  • Conduct biweekly 30-minute check-in calls with students.
  • Respond to student questions and provide feedback on their projects.
  • Offer career advice and support to students.
  • Maintain communication with students outside of scheduled calls as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and relevant data engineering tools.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
