Requirements
Candidates must possess a Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, and a minimum of 15 years of experience in database design, development, and migration specifically within Azure environments. They should have hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, COSMOS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra, along with proven expertise in migrating large databases (1TB or greater) across multiple database engines and experience with heterogenous database migrations. Furthermore, they should be proficient in performance optimization techniques and possess strong troubleshooting and communication skills, complemented by scripting language knowledge (bash/Perl/Python).
Responsibilities
The Azure DB Architect - Migration will analyze on-premises/Azure transactional database environments, including Oracle, SQL Server, COSMOS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra, to evaluate and plan migrations to Azure. They will develop and enhance database PLSQL scripts/TSQL for migration, identify workarounds for specific migration issues, create test plans and test cases to demonstrate database readiness, document detailed design and migration steps, and support continued migration from development to production environments. Additionally, the role involves setting up and maintaining Database Administration, HA DR, and Monitoring (backup/restore, replication, etc.).
