Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Public Accounting, or a related field, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in audit, with at least 3 years in a management role within the nonprofit sector. Strong knowledge of Governmental Audit Standards, Single Audit Compliance requirements, and federal and California state regulations is essential, as is experience auditing governmentally funded organizations. Familiarity with California state and Los Angeles County specific government grants and funding sources and related compliance requirements is also required.

Responsibilities

The Audit Manager - Nonprofit/Single Audit will be responsible for managing multiple nonprofit/tax-exempt audit and assurance engagements simultaneously, scheduling, staffing, and coordinating engagement workflow. They will oversee all phases of an audit, compilation, or review engagements for nonprofit organizations, including developing and training staff, and connecting with clients to develop new business for the firm. The role involves maintaining and continually developing technical knowledge of relevant professional standards, researching and applying accounting standards, and providing on-the-job training to team members while supervising senior staff and reviewing work papers and reports.
