Requirements

The Associate Registrar, Collections requires a breadth of experience and expertise to manage registration activities for modern and contemporary artwork types and exhibition complexities. They must be able to represent the museum's interests to arts communities, including artists, studios, fabricators, estates, donors, vendors, galleries, and other museums. Participation in professional networks, workshops, and programs to stay current with relevant practices, methods, and technologies is also required.

Responsibilities

The Associate Registrar, Collections will advance registration methods, policies, and procedures for the museum’s collections and exhibition programs. They are responsible for planning, managing, and documenting registration activities for assigned projects related to accessions/deaccessions, collections care, outgoing/incoming loans, rotations, and exhibitions programs. This role involves leading assigned projects, collaborating with internal departments, and representing the museum to external arts communities. The position also includes contributing to an inclusive and collaborative workplace, fostering a culture of safety, inclusivity, and equity, and participating in professional development to share new skills with the department.
