Requirements

  • JD and in good standing with an active US state bar membership
  • At least 8+ years of experience, with substantial in-house experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen and ability to partner with business and technical teams
  • Strong understanding of privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) and intellectual property law
  • Ability to communicate clearly with business and technical audiences
  • Hands-on attitude to tackle projects large and small, low-ego approach to working across the organization
  • Positive collaborative attitude, comfort with change and a fast pace, high level of integrity, and intellectual curiosity
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Ability to work on site in Los Angeles office

Responsibilities

  • Be a go-to cross-functional legal partner for product, engineering, research, and design
  • Provide full product life-cycle counseling, from ideation and development to launch and operation
  • Identify and keep ahead of the evolving regulatory landscape by translating uncertainty into practical guidance
  • Be (or become) an expert on a range of issues including intellectual property, privacy, data protection, security, social media, and advertising
  • Develop and implement scaled legal processes to accelerate the company’s growth
  • Work closely with the General Counsel to set the roadmap for, and execute on, the product legal strategy
