Knowledge of Transmission Line & Engineering civil, structural and electrical concepts
Familiarity with Transmission Line Construction techniques
Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and the Massachusetts DPU Code (per Chapter 220, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Regulations Section 125)
Knowledge of the guidance in AISC Steel Manual, ACI Building Code and Commentary
Familiarity with PLS-CADD and its associated suite of software products, Microsoft Office, Sag10, L-Pile, MathCAD
A combination of strong technical knowledge and business acumen
Understanding of the Federal and New England regulatory environment
Responsibilities
Support rapid scoping of Eversource Transmission line modifications and upgrades by reading system impact studies, reviewing site plans, and evaluating existing records
Support Eversource strategic development projects requiring Transmission line upgrades or modifications
Perform design and analysis of overhead transmission lines, design of line supporting structures, foundation designs, and clearance evaluations
Develop documentation for regulatory and siting agencies (including drawings, reports, interrogatory responses, etc.)
Represent Transmission Line and Civil Engineering (TL&CE) in industry, legal and regulatory proceedings
Support in drafting documents for project initiation including estimates, project justifications, scopes, full project initiation submittals, drawings, and photographs
Coordinate with Eversource Substation Engineering, Interconnections, generation developers, and other stakeholders to produce consistent and constructible interconnection designs
Support conceptual and preliminary design of overhead transmission line upgrades or modifications using PLS-CADD and associated software
Develop and oversee design details, specifications, material lists, and drawing packages for procurement and construction
Support documentation of newly constructed or modified Transmission Line facilities
Support maintenance and operation of Transmission Line facilities with engineering analysis
Review external uses of Eversource rights-of-way against Eversource Standards
Analyze field data on Transmission Line Assets and provide technical guidance on replacement/remediation
Assist other Eversource organizations (e.g., Plant Accounting, Transmission Asset Management, Real Estate, Legal, Regulatory Policy & Planning, Governmental Affairs, Customer Service) with information and guidance on transmission facilities
Support revisions and development of Eversource Transmission Line design, construction, and maintenance standards in accordance with NESC, ISO New England documents, and other regulations
