Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a business or technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience
  • 8 or more years of experience in Procurement of IT systems and/or software
  • 5 years of experience managing and leading teams
  • Indirect Procurement experience identifying potential ‘best fit’ suppliers for internal business partner needs
  • Experience developing strategy, negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
  • Knowledgeable in project management methodologies, tools, understanding of IT products and services, including software, hardware, and cloud solutions
  • Business analysis skills to drive and implement sourcing programs and services aligned with business partners strategies
  • Strong financial and business acumen (understanding/ability to communicate ‘revenue recognition’, SLA’s, to external partners)
  • Effectiveness in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Outstanding communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including assertiveness, courage, and the ability to influence others
  • Excellent relationship management skills, demonstrating mature confidence and integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end software renewal lifecycle for enterprise applications and platforms
  • Develop and execute renewal strategies aligned with Humana’s technology roadmap, budget, and compliance requirements
  • Establish governance frameworks for software renewals, including escalation paths, approval workflows, and renewal thresholds
  • Partner with IT, Legal, Finance, and business partners to ensure timely, cost-effective renewals
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and compliance
  • Maintain a centralized renewal calendar and proactively manage upcoming renewals
  • Analyze software usage, licensing models, and contract terms to identify optimization opportunities
  • Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to renewal associates
  • Influence and collaborate with peers across the IT Procurement & Supplier Management team
  • Analyze software spend and identify cost-saving opportunities to maximize ROI
  • Develop risk- and probability-adjusted multi-year savings forecasts and annual savings goals
  • Support enterprise transformation initiatives by aligning renewal strategies with cloud migration, digital modernization, and platform consolidation efforts
  • Leverage internal and external resources to deliver results efficiently
  • Oversee supplier analysis including capabilities, goals, risk profile, and financial health
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align procurement with organizational strategies
  • Develop multi-year sourcing pipelines that drive total value, including cost savings and supplier innovation
  • Drive compliance with preferred-supplier programs through change management and communications
  • Coordinate with Procurement Operations and Corporate Account Payables to ensure seamless associate experience
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline renewal processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance stakeholder satisfaction
