Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience marketing live and virtual events
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, especially with Product/Technology, Design, and Analytics teams
  • Strong understanding of audience segments and journey through the conversion funnel
  • Strong analytical skills and a knack for using data to make decisions
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Creative thinking and a bias for action
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS (a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, Looker, and/or an ESP (a plus)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission

Responsibilities

  • Planning and executing marketing campaigns to generate RSVPs and viewership and increase awareness and interest in event offerings
  • Leveraging paid and organic channels such as email, house ads, social media, and content marketing
  • Partnering with the Events team to develop plans and messaging, and monitor campaign results
  • Collaborating with Audience Development to post on Axios social media accounts
  • Initiating and managing A/B tests to improve conversions and engagements in the registration flow
  • Partnering with the Design team to develop creative assets for various marketing channels, including landing pages, emails, social posts, and ads
  • Creating and deploying marketing emails to attract event registrations
  • Working closely with other Growth team members on cross-promotions, the Product/Tech team on organic acquisition, and the Analytics team on reporting and analysis
  • Reporting campaign results, presenting data-driven insights, and recommending next steps to increase the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Occasional travel to support event media capture and promotion
