Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field and have 5 to 10 years of experience in process, quality, or development engineering. Experience with flexible materials processing techniques such as extruding, coating, printing, and laminating is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and skills in Quality, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies including FMEA, DOE, and SPC.
The Applications Engineer will evaluate and implement new technologies into commercial processes while serving as a liaison between customers' engineering teams and the company's technical staff. They will meet with customers to understand and document product requirements, plan and coordinate trials, and develop manufacturing methods. Additional duties include creating product specifications, quality plans, test methods, work instructions, training plans, and metrics to ensure a smooth transition to manufacturing after development.
