Candidates must possess an MD/DO degree and be ABP board-certified/eligible in AP/CP and Molecular Genetic Pathology. A qualified and unrestricted Medical License to practice in California is required, with current California Medical License holders being preferred.
The Pathologist will provide clinical oversight for laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities include reviewing patient specimens and clinical notes, performing tumor analysis for molecular testing, and approving oncology testing reports. The role involves overseeing the review of genetic and CNV variant data, interpreting NGS and microarray results, and providing clinical support. This position also entails setting and maintaining laboratory testing standards, analyzing lab data for publications, serving as a Clinical Consultant for assay utility and test interpretation, and acting as a Technical Supervisor responsible for method selection, verification, proficiency testing, quality assessment, and personnel competency. Additionally, the Pathologist will manage a team, review assigned work, and mentor personnel.
