Position Overview

This role specializes in data architecture for reporting services, with design expertise in data warehouses, data marts, and enterprise business intelligence (BI) reporting. The position identifies opportunities to increase BI utilization within the firm and designs end-to-end BI solutions to provide insights for key decision-makers.

The Data Management team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, currency, and comprehensiveness of Preqin's coverage of the alternatives assets industry. As a Data Management Analyst, your primary focus will be on data collection, processing, and quality assurance. This individual will also conduct primary research through direct outreach to investment professionals to obtain proprietary information, requiring a sales-like mindset to build research relationships. The role also involves handling data inquiries, quality assurance, data monitoring for consistency, and client engagement concerning the Preqin Pro platform.

Role Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth web-based research to collect data relating to firm, fund, and transaction activity in the alternative asset universe.
• Proactively communicate and build relationships with key professionals of all levels within the alternative assets industry to obtain valuable proprietary information on past, current, and future investment activities.
• Update Preqin’s online database with key financial information, statistics, and analysis.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the dataset, supporting internal and external stakeholders in understanding internal data management processes.
• Troubleshoot escalated data quality incidents, collaborating with regional stakeholders and/or global Business Units as needed.
• Support senior team members on research projects and participate in further data enhancement and development activities.

Candidate Profile

You are a good fit if you possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Engineering.
• Prior experience focused on communication and relationship management.
• Strong research capabilities and investigative instincts.
• The ability to perform effectively in a target-driven environment, working towards set KPIs and performance metrics.
• Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, and a collaborative approach.
• A keen interest in finance and knowledge of financial markets.
• Fluency in English with excellent writing and communication skills.
• Experience using Microsoft tools such as Excel, SharePoint, and Office 365.

Compensation and Benefits (for NY7 - 50 Hudson Yards, New York)

• Salary Range: USD $50,000.00 - USD $55,000.00 per year (equivalent to USD $24.04 - USD $26.44 per hour).
• Additional Compensation: Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
