Requirements

Minimum 18+ years of industry experience in software engineering, with at least 7+ years in managerial roles overseeing teams and projects
Experience leading end-to-end delivery, meeting account objectives, managing Application outsourcing and Managed Services engagements for large Insurance (Life & Annuity) clients
Experience managing business development, identifying and developing new opportunities
Experience managing project financials and P&L
Proven ability to lead and deliver large-scale software development projects, managing cross-functional teams
Technical expertise with Micro Focus tools and COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, PL/I, Rexx, flat/sequential files, GDGs, and VSAM
Strong programming, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Experience implementing cloud migration and conversion projects
Strong communication, collaboration, and team leadership abilities, with success managing diverse engineering teams
Experience with Vantage and wmA products is a significant advantage
Expertise in managing software projects, including resource planning, timeline tracking, and risk mitigation
Solid understanding of the US Insurance domain, particularly Life and Annuity products
Proven expertise in driving end-to-end conversion and migration projects
A master’s degree in a related field is a plus
Relevant certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or technical certifications are highly desirable

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of software engineers to design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements
Drive accurate project estimations, including effort, timeline, and resource planning, ensuring realistic project commitments and on-time delivery
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their queries, and ensuring high customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
Partner with cross-functional teams, including product management and quality assurance, to define project requirements and ensure seamless project execution and delivery
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, conduct regular one-on-one meetings, and drive performance assessments and career development planning
Contribute to the software engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational technology goals and business objectives
Oversee agile development processes, including sprint planning, execution, and retrospectives, while ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to maintain high standards of code quality, design, and technical excellence
Track project progress, identify risks, and resolve any issues that may affect project timelines or outcomes
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional growth
