Requirements

Currently studying a Degree in Aerospace engineering, Aeronautical engineering, Mechanical engineering, General engineering, Maths, Physics or other related subject
Aerodynamics and propulsion based modules are most relevant (such as Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Aircraft Performance, Flight Dynamics & Control etc.)
A passion for aerodynamics and propulsion
The ability to clearly communicate and present ideas including preparing technical presentations and reports

Responsibilities

Receive mentorship and support from aerodynamicists to learn cutting-edge aerodynamic techniques for designing missiles
Undertake a placement project exposing you to areas such as: design of missiles across development stages (concept, assessment, development, in-service)
Application and development of bespoke tools alongside commercial software to evaluate airframe performance
Exploration of stealth, propulsion, thermal and structural aspects in a multi-disciplinary missile design approach
Missile integration onto land, naval and air platforms
Integration of solid rocket motors and air-breathing engines into missile airframes, assessing impact on aerodynamics and performance
Work on a self-contained project applying university knowledge to industry-specific problems, delivering relevant conclusions to the aerodynamic team
