  • Master’s degree in Nursing; or Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies required
  • Active and unencumbered license in Washington required. Additionally, California licensure preferred
  • National certification relevant to their state licensure, education, and training
  • At least 8 years’ experience in occupational health, urgent care, or emergency room setting
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promotes Health Services strategic direction in support of total worker health and wellbeing to increase the resilience and reliability of the workforce
  • Solves complex medical problems associated with work fitness for duty and safe return to work
  • Manages, mentors, and develops clinic staff
  • Fosters a culture of trust and confidence with employees, internal stakeholders, and contractors by proving effective leadership and engagement while delivering appropriate, service oriented, and professional medical services
  • Maintains standards for high quality clinical operations, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for employed and contracted medical services
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated exams
  • Provides medical staffing during plant projects and “turn around” activities as needed
  • Provides and supervises the medical management of work-related injuries and the response of clinical staff during medical emergencies
  • Collaborates and coordinates emergency medical care with the MPC local Emergency Response Team and municipal rescue personnel
  • Provides systematic management of worker medical leave with a focus on achieving a safe, timely, and coordinated return to the workforce
  • Ability to evaluate complex medical situations and worker injuries independently, within scope of practice, with an ability to identify and elevate complex medical cases
  • Ability to make sound judgments regarding fitness-for-duty and return-to-work evaluations
  • Skilled in managing medical emergencies and collaborating with internal and external response teams
  • Completes OSHA/DOT mandated exams independently
  • Manages/supports local Case Management requiring little support from supervision
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other relevant regulations governing occupational health
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fluid work environment, including after-hours support for projects, outages, and turnarounds
