Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility
  • No prior RN dialysis experience required (entry-level position)

Responsibilities

  • Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Program Manager and with guidance from the Educator, Preceptor, or an Inpatient CAP RN 2, 3, 4, or 5 for the first 6 months
  • Completes requirements to advance to the next Inpatient CAP level within 24 months of hire
  • Collects and analyzes patient data pre-, during-, and post-treatment, documenting in the medical record
  • Adjusts or modifies the treatment plan as indicated and notifies the Program Manager, physician, patient's primary nurse, and others as needed
  • Recognizes patient status variations and reports to or collaborates with appropriate healthcare team members
  • Assesses daily assigned patient care needs and collaborates with direct and ancillary staff
  • Provides safe and effective patient care for assigned patients as prescribed for all modality-specific treatment procedures
  • Initiates and coordinates communication with FKC and Non-FKC dialysis providers and hospital personnel
