Requirements

Candidates must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license, and possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Prior experience in acute care, particularly with dialysis patients, is preferred, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and patient assessment skills.

Responsibilities

The Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse will administer and assess patient treatment plans autonomously in a fast-paced hospital environment, working alongside inpatient staff in ICU, CCU, and ED units. They will monitor patient status, recognize and respond to changes, document patient data, and communicate effectively with the nephrology health care team and hospital personnel to ensure continuity of care. Additionally, the RN will administer medications as prescribed, fulfill physician orders, and participate in decision-making, teaching, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
