Requirements

Graduate or equivalent education
2-3 years’ experience in Indirect Tax Function specifically in GST, Excise, VAT, WCT, Service Tax and accounting knowledge
Work experience in Big 4 Accounting firms is preferred
Experience in SAP working environment is compulsory, with knowledge in FI & GST module
Knowledge of company organization and accounting practices
Strong leadership, initiative, inter-personal skills, team player abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with a strong positive attitude
Experience in national and local (federal and state) tax laws and various indirect taxes (VAT, customs duties, Excise Duties, Service Tax, Sales Tax, Works Contract Tax, etc.) and regulations in India

Responsibilities

Review transaction processing and advise on appropriate GST and WHT charges
Advise internal/external customers on Indirect Tax, including appropriate tax classification, forms, and declarations for tax benefits and compliance
Provide leadership in implementing tax planning, tax reduction strategies, and ensure compliance
Comply with Goods and Service Tax (GST)
Minimize legal tax liability by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing tax returns; challenging and negotiating reductions to tax assessments; determining timely estimated taxes; and participating in tax reduction projects
Inform stakeholders on amendments in Acts, Rules, notifications, circulars, and instructions, with in-depth knowledge on transactional processing
Set right GST processes for each activity
Review Input Tax Credit, accounts postings, payment of tax, monthly returns, and e-filing of various returns (monthly, quarterly, annual)
Provide necessary information to tax authorities, liaise with tax authorities, handle tax assessments, and reconcile accounts
Provide Management Information Reports and support Global VAT Compliance
Handle other assignments as required
