Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
  • 4+ years of relevant tax experience
  • Experience with predicting liabilities for Federal and/or State tax
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Experience with computerized tax software and research programs
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax law and current developments
  • Strong Excel proficiency
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field (preferred)
  • GAAP ASC 740 tax accounting experience or knowledge (preferred)
  • Statutory SSAP 101 tax accounting experience or knowledge (preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision software (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret tax laws, regulations, GAAP, and Statutory tax accounting principles
  • Prepare technical reports on how tax laws impact the organization's operations
  • Maintain tax information and records
  • Prepare tax returns and other required reports
  • Pay tax declarations to ensure compliance obligations are submitted accurately and on time
  • Prepare correspondence with external tax agencies (e.g. auditors)
  • Influence department's strategy
  • Make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components
  • Perform work without direction
  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
