Requirements

Self-motivated, creative, energetic, and highly organized with great interpersonal skills
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Experience developing communications plans, press materials, pitches, op-eds, and blog postings
Complex project management skills and ability to work within deadlines
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently
Strong existing reporter relationships and a willingness to pitch them stories
Ability to prepare and present complex materials or issues before a wide variety of audiences

Responsibilities

Pitch news stories to media outlets including TV, print, digital, and radio
Establish and develop relationships with members of the press
Draft written messaging materials including op-eds, press releases, and talking points
Help manage accounts
Understand and manage complex issue campaigns
Devise and execute strategic public relations plans
