Requirements

  • Self-motivated, creative, energetic, and highly organized with great interpersonal skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing communications plans, press materials, pitches, op-eds, and blog postings
  • Complex project management skills and ability to work within deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong existing reporter relationships and a willingness to pitch them stories
  • Ability to prepare and present complex materials or issues before a wide variety of audiences

Responsibilities

  • Pitch news stories to media outlets including TV, print, digital, and radio
  • Establish and develop relationships with members of the press
  • Draft written messaging materials including op-eds, press releases, and talking points
  • Help manage accounts
  • Understand and manage complex issue campaigns
  • Devise and execute strategic public relations plans
  • Additional opportunities and responsibilities commensurate with job growth and client needs
