Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Boiler 3rd class engineer license for the State of Massachusetts
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at multiple levels with heights to 40 feet
  • Ability to move materials weighing up to 50lbs distances of 10 feet or more
  • Ability to understand, record, and communicate all relevant information about the functional area
  • Demonstrate good attendance record
  • Mobility to all areas of a multi-leveled production facility
  • Manual dexterity necessary
  • Ability to move materials weighing up to 400lbs distances of up to 75 feet using a hand truck
  • Knowledge of MGL Chapter 146, CMR 522, CMR 310, ASME Code, and NBIC
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
  • Flexible to work over time when required
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Responsibilities

  • Operate (4) 600+ Hp high-pressure steam boilers
  • Conduct maintenance of the boilers and all related piping and equipment
  • Complete and maintain accurate documentation/logs of activities during shift
  • Test and treat boilers and cooling towers
  • Troubleshoot all related problems with the steam system
  • Monitor contractors working on systems ensuring proper procedures and paperwork
  • Troubleshoot and correct machinery problems as related to utilities
  • Keep work area clean at all times
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties as required
  • Maintain equipment and area cleanliness to ensure compliance with all GMP standards
  • Use proper chemical handling procedures
  • Comply with all standards, safety practices, safety rules, and all company rules and policies
  • Demonstrate good attendance
  • Work shift hours as designated by management and extended hours as required
  • Orient new associates to the department’s equipment and procedures
  • Demonstrate the “Hands on” operation of all equipment and tools required in the work area to firemen
  • Compliance with all Company policies and procedures
