Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 3 months, preferred 6 months of experience in related areas
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Successfully complete State Licensing requirements
  • Successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Transfer material into the treating cylinder, loading and unloading from the pad
  • Provide general preventive maintenance on treating equipment
  • Complete pre-shift/startup equipment checklist and report any problems or concerns
  • Prepare for the daily treating schedule
  • Ensure rough material is ready and available for treating
  • Follow treating protocol and instructions as described by Company policy
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist others with moving material, loading and unloading material to and from the tram
  • Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Safely and efficiently operate wood preserving equipment
  • Ensure material is treated following the appropriate specifications
  • Handle and dispose hazardous materials according to policy
  • Test wood fiber and solutions to meet specific treating requirements
