Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment (engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines) using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring/testing instruments, per diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer's specifications (Approx. 15%)
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to sounds to locate trouble causes (Approx. 15%)
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools (Approx. 15%)
  • Examine parts for imperfections and inspect used parts for dimensional changes using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments (Approx. 15%)
  • Adjust functional parts and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges (Approx. 15%)
  • Repair or replace defective structural parts using hand tools (Approx. 10%)
  • Start devices to test performance, lubricate, and clean parts (Approx. 10%)
  • Set up and operate drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make/repair parts; assist with environmental compliance, hazardous waste disposal, and air pollutant regulations (Approx. 5%)
  • Maintain and repair machinery/equipment in the shop, Plant 1, 2, 3, 4, 5; perform building maintenance inside and outside as needed
