Requirements

  • Desire to work in a team environment, often under competing deadlines
  • Strong financial modeling skills, with past experience modeling and evaluating transactions
  • Excellent technical proficiency in Excel/VBA
  • Prior experience preparing presentation materials using PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience at an investment bank (M&A, Leveraged Finance, or other coverage groups), consulting firm, a sell-side structuring or trading desk, or a hedge fund
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Highly motivated and demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors
  • Past Structured Credit experience is helpful, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform due diligence on prospective investments within the credit space, with a focus on Structured Credit, including meeting with potential borrowers, doing deep dives on the business, industry/strategy research, financial modeling, and putting together investment materials
  • Work with other members of the Investment Team to diligence and underwrite investment opportunities, leveraging Blackstone’s various groups where appropriate
  • Build comprehensive financial models and evaluate various cases and types of deal structures
  • Draft and present memorandums for Investment Committees
  • Monitor existing investments including tracking KPIs and continuously challenging the validity of the investment thesis
  • Think creatively about ways to improve the team’s existing processes
