Requirements
Emerging artists with less than 5 years of animation industry experience OR recent graduates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
18 years or older and eligible to work in Canada
Resume and a single reel no longer than 2 minutes
Examples of authored materials, textures, and procedural instancing (i.e., vegetation, etc.)
Examples of assets created and brought to technically efficient and artistically appealing final completion
Ability to interpret and execute key aesthetic elements from visual development artwork into an asset
Demonstrated ability to physically paint
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Proficiency with Maya, Photoshop, Mari, Substance, or equivalent 3D and 2D tools (plus)
Experience with procedural instancing (plus)
Understanding of shaders and physically based rendering (plus)
Experience/Enthusiasm for scripting (plus)
Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environment (plus)
Responsibilities
Focus on creating materials, textures, and procedurals that define the look of 3D environments under guidance of Disney mentors
Hone and understand skills, refine and strengthen key disciplines in a real-time production environment
Participate in structured introduction to LookDev, studio culture, and production environment during first four months
Receive nurturing mentorship from a Disney artist and real-time feedback via four-month review to determine future assignments and promotional opportunities
